Aberdeen and surrounding areas had been hit with some decent snow which, paired with a cold snap, had lasted around a week, but with a big thaw looming the following week, we decided to head out west to Pitfichie (about 20 miles from Aberdeen) for a trail run.

On Sunday we headed out to Bennachie - a range of hills in Aberdeenshire, 20 miles from Out & Back. Mither Tap is the peak that stands out the most visually, complete with its Iron Age Fort, summiting it acts as almost a rite of passage for the people of Aberdeen and surrounding areas.
